Character meme/project announcement

Wed Sep 23, 2009, 6:58 PM
~electric-ace did this, so I couldn't resist!

Write out the names of your characters and explain:
1.) How you thought of their name.
2.) What made you create the character in the first place.
3.) How the character has changed over time(If they have changed).
4.) Any random fun fact about that character.

Kyrie Nero
1.) Kyrie's name was, originally, just a twist on my own nickname-she was developed to be an alter-world version of me. Doing a random research string on gregorian-style chant (of all things) however dug up that Kyrie is also a popular chant style, meaning "O lord" in greek. Or roughly that. Such a cool little fact just solidified Kyrie as her name. Nero...that I'm still working on :D
2.) As mentioned above, she was created to be an alterworld version of me. Blame Rihanna's "Disturbia" which spawned a world of vampires and-of course-vampire hunters for my muse.
3.) Strange as it sounds, she's still very much the same as she was a year ago.
4.) For a vampire hunter...she's strangely terrified of brainless undead.

David Strange
1.) It just...fit. I have absolutely no idea how or why or when but I wrote it down as a place holder name and it just stuck.
2.) Considering I started writing TBR one year ago exactly (strange how I just remembered that) when Twilight was THE standard for vampire novels, I thought it fitting to break the sparkly-super-sexy-vamps that Stephanie Meyer created. I have nothing against them, I just wanted ones that were a challenge to kill-if you could identify them as a vampire to begin with. Not to mention, writing from the perspective of a vampire is so much more fun. So, David was 'born'. He blends in-questionably at times-but if you didn't know he was a vampire, you wouldn't guess it. <.< Round-about answer, anyone?
3.) David, even though he's the main character, has changed a lot more than Kyrie has. In the original outline I had, he was going to (gasp!) leave Kyrie for a time for one reason or another. Not because he's a jack-ass, but because he needed to think about things or (later in development) he thought she'd be safer. For all you TBR fans, you'll be happy to know he's settled on developing into a guy who'll stay with his woman-end (not) of story.
4.) Though David's embraced the ever-changing world and is ever on the forefront of modern, he still holds a few of his Victorian-bred convictions.

And now for the teaser character. Introducing:

Alire
1.) Alire was chosen not for any particular meaning, but because I wanted something that would sound powerful yet just roll elegantly off the tongue.
2.) I wanted to create a character to fit in to my already existing TBR world-yet still retain her own story. And her story brings a few more interesting elements to the TBRVerse, while also highlighting that hey, TBR is told from someone on the inside-how would the world of vampires and etc look to someone on the outside.
3.) Alire...hasn't and probably won't changed.
4.) Alire isn't her legal name. :3

And that's all for now! You'll be meeting Alire very very soon-her story is a short one, I just gotta get writing. :D

THE KEYMAKER Project Information!

Imagine a world where steam rules all, and magic has largely been forgotten as myth and fairytale.

Dive deeper into that world and you find that there are still people who know what magic is, how it is used-and that as with everything there are those who want nothing but good from it, and those who would do ill works.

This world's missing something though: you.

=Fayestardust is looking for talented individuals to work on a relatively non-profit project called The Keymaker, a steampunk and slightly gothic graphic novel. You can find more information on her Journal, though don't hesitate to ask me questions, too.

I, for one, am looking forward to what this project can create! :D

  • Mood: Joy
  • Listening to: Storm from Ka (Cirque Du Soleil)
  • Reading: It Takes a Wizard
  • Playing: World of Warcraft (again <.<)
  • Eating: will be eating cookies in a few <.<

1.) I can't believe that DISNEY, of all people, bought Marvel.

2.) YAY STEAMPUNK!! I'd be all over that!

1) I know. I audibly (and quite loudly, given it was the middle of the night) said "they did what!?" I mean, I don't know if it's marvel or just Stan Lee, but one of my favorites was/is Stripperella. Even if Stripperella isn't a Marvel property, there's all sorts, like Witchblade, and the Darkness, and other tons of stuff.

....but then, we also have to remember that Disney did back Mel Gibson's Apocalypto, so....who knows.

2) :D I don't know when the official release is going to be sadly, but she and I will keep people updated. Honestly, we're still trying to assemble a team together so....spread the word to any artists that are looking for a worthy (and unfortunately unpaid at the moment) project? XD

I have come to a conclusion. Revelations is at least partly right. There is a false prophet. It is not a prophet of flesh and blood but of paper and ink. That prophet is Edward Cullen. We're all gonna die, lol.

I love this to death, it's so great to see your characters! I can't wait to hear more about Alire!
